Chapter One

A family, a room, a way of pouring coffee.

Drop Cafe opened in Albuquerque in December of 2025, the work of the Awad family and a long-held wish: to share Middle Eastern hospitality through something as simple, and as meaningful, as a cup of coffee.

The room itself was built by hand. Warm wood, soft gold light, barrels of beans lining the walls, and a ceiling mapped with the outlines of countries filled in coffee. Every detail was chosen to feel like home, the way a good cafe should.

From day one the line has stretched past the door, and the Dubai chocolate croissants barely make it to the pastry case before being claimed. We are, as the family says, incredibly blessed.

Chapter Three

Coffee was born in these mountains.

Long before coffeehouses lined the streets of Europe, the beans were grown, roasted, and shared in Yemen. The tradition that started there is the one we carry into every cup we pour.

A short reading on the place, the ritual, and the reason we do it this way.

Rooted in the terraced highlands

Yemen is one of the oldest coffee-growing regions in the world. The climate, the altitude, the stone-stepped farms carved into the mountains: it all shows up in the cup.

What you taste is a place, preserved.

Hospitality, not haste

In Yemeni coffee culture, the pour is an invitation. You sit, you talk, you stay a while. We built Drop Cafe to feel the same way, from the moment you walk in.

Flavor with depth

Expect cardamom, warmth, a fullness that modern coffee sometimes forgets. We pair traditional preparations with the signatures our regulars ask for by name.

An exceptionally beautiful coffee shop. By far one of the nicest I've ever been to.
